The Medical Center of Southeast Texas names it's November Sunshine Award recipient – Samar Abusaleh, a phlebotomist who was nominated by her peers for this award!

“Samar is the best phlebotomist. She comes down to the ED when she has any free time to offer assistance. She does this with a smile on her face. Samar is the definition of a team player!”

“Samar has demonstrated interdepartmental teamwork on multiple occasions. She finishes her work within the lab and without being asked, comes down to ED and checks with multiple nurses to see if there are any patients that needs to be drawn. Typically, ED is responsible for their own lab draws and recollects, but Samar always seems to make a presence on the unit to help at critical times and her presence is appreciated and noticed.”

“Always looking for ways to help others any way she can.”

The Sunshine award exists to help recognize hospital staff members that support nursing staff! Without sunshine, DAISYs wouldn't be able to grow and likewise, nurses at The Medical Center wouldn't be able to do their jobs without so many people that work in the background to make everything possible.
