The Medical Center of Southeast Texas Awards October DAISY Award Recipient – October 2022
We’re honored to award this month’s DAISY Award to Pam Allen, one of our most valued Rn's in our ICU.
Read on to see why Pam was nominated for this month's DAISY Award!
“I would like to nominate Pam Allen for the DAISY award. Pam has grown to be a strong RN within the ICU. The thing that makes Pam stand apart from her peers is her attention to detail, willingness to critically think, and her consistent focus on patient safety.
Recently, Pam was taking care of a surgery patient who was requiring ICU care and was becoming more and more confused. With approval from the doctor, Pam accompanied the patient and family outside the building (via wheelchair) for fresh air and sunshine, in an attempt to reorient the patient to their environment and time of day. This act stood out to me and showed Pam going above and beyond for her patients. It took quite a bit of time out of Pam’s day to coordinate and carryout this activity. For this act and many others, I nominate Pam for the Daisy award.”
The DAISY Award is a nationwide program presented in collaboration with the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day.
